Tried this antenna in two different locations 30 miles apart; it did not help at all with AM reception using two different radios.
I was sceptical, but I got it in the mail.I put it on top of my Bose Wave II Clock radio. helps what you have, not really a powered booster.Works for me. Twisted it around then turned the knob back and forth to get the best reception.It helped alot to take out the static.Now I can hear Chuck Swindoll loud and clear on AM 1100 here in the SF. Bay Area.It's just a wire loop that's a little adjustable,no batteries. Jim So. City
My BIL listens to 620am for sports radio and he loves the Terk too. I highly recomend this to anyone who is an avid AM talk radio listener.
It has been up and running wirelessly for about 2 weeks and the difference is incredible. After reading many of the other reviews I decided to go ahead and buy the Terk AM-1000.
and haven't had a problem whatsoever. Virtually no white noise or background talking.
We listen to George Norey, Rush, the Nearly Famous Barry Young, etc. You won't be disappointed.
No more missed plays from back reception.
My AM Radio reception was terrible so I got this to hopefully resolve it. It works great. I didn't even have a hook up directly for my radio but just setting it next to it worked wonders. I enjoy my radio station so much more now with the clear signal.
The signal strength went up and the background static is now near zero. I attached the Terk AM-1000 to my stero to bring in a weak station. The station is 40 miles away and partly obscured by hills.As a final test, when my wife came home from work the first day I attached the AM-1000, she commented that the radio station "sure sounded good" within 10 seconds of entering the room. The improvement was amazing. I record a talk radio station when I am not in the house so I have "before" and "after" comparisons. Check. If she can notice it, it sounds MUCH better.
